ARROWFALL: privacy policy
Effective 2026-10-25. Applies to the ARROWFALL app on the Meta Horizon Store and to arrowfall.lol.
ARROWFALL is made by an independent developer, Vasbányai János (contact: vasbanyai.j@gmail.com). We collect as little as possible: there are no ads, no tracking across apps or sites and no ARROWFALL accounts. The only statistics are anonymous play statistics (how many play and how far they get), which you can turn off in the pause menu. We never sell or rent personal data and never use it for advertising. This policy lists every piece of data the app touches, why, where it is kept and for how long, and how to have it deleted.
1. Data the app collects and how it is used
| Data | Where it comes from | What it is used for | Where it is kept, for how long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta app-scoped User ID (a number Meta assigns to your account for this app only) | The Meta Horizon Store, through the Platform's User ID feature, when the app starts. | (a) to recognise the developer's own test accounts on the device; (b) in multiplayer (DUO) it is sent to the other player in your room, so that either of you can report the other; (c) it is included in a player report (section 3). | Not stored by the app on its own. It leaves your headset only to the other player in your room (who does not keep it) and inside a player report, which is kept as described in section 3. |
| Account age group | The Meta Horizon Store, through the Platform's User Age Group feature, when the app starts. | Requested because Meta requires apps to check it; the game's content and features do not change with it. | Not stored and not sent anywhere: it is only held in memory while the app runs. |
| Purchase of the Full Game add-on (owned / not owned) | The Meta Horizon Store (in-app purchase). Payment is handled entirely by Meta; we never see payment details. | To unlock the full game. | A yes/no flag on your headset only, so the game works offline. Removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. |
| Player reports: the room name, both players' session numbers and app-scoped User IDs, the reason picked (harassment, hate, cheating or other), the game version and the time | Sent only when a player uses REPORT PLAYER in the pause menu during multiplayer. | Read only by the developer, to review player conduct; may be passed to Meta when a report needs action on an account. | On our server (Cloudflare). Deleted when no longer needed for that review and at the latest 12 months after it was sent. |
| Multiplayer data: your head and hand positions, game state, and your voice if you allow the microphone | Your headset, only while you play DUO. | Sent only to the other players in your room, directly (WebRTC) or through our relay, so they can see and hear you. The microphone is used only for this voice chat; you can mute it or deny the permission at any time. | Not recorded or stored: the relay only forwards it. A Quick Join room code is listed on our server only while the room is open. |
| Anonymous play statistics: a random ID made on your headset (not your Meta account or User ID, and not linked to them), and when you open the app, start a run, reach a level, reach the end of the free levels, press UNLOCK, buy the Full Game, play DUO or end a run, with the level, whether you own the Full Game, the headset model (Quest 2 or Quest 3 class) and the game version | Your play, sent by the app (release version) while it is online. | Read only by the developer, as totals: how many people play, how far they get, how many come back, to improve the game. Never used for advertising, never combined with other data, never shared. | On our server (Cloudflare), as counters per random ID and per day; no IP address, account or device details are stored with them. The random ID is renewed on your headset after 13 months; a record not seen for 13 months is deleted. Turn it off with STATS in the pause menu: nothing more is sent and the ID is removed from your headset. |
| Settings and progress (sound, mirror, hand, movement settings, your level/XP and cosmetics) | Your play. | To keep your settings and progress between sessions. | On your headset only (browser storage). Never sent to us. |
| Network address (IP) | Your connection to our servers. | Needed to deliver the game files, the relay and voice connections (Cloudflare, our hosting and TURN provider). | We do not keep logs of IP addresses. Cloudflare processes them to deliver traffic under its own privacy policy. |
2. Sharing
Data is shared only as described above: with the other players in your multiplayer room, with Meta (the store features and, if needed, a player report) and with Cloudflare (hosting, relay, TURN) as a service provider. Nothing else is shared.
3. Deleting your data
- Data on your headset (settings, progress, the purchase flag): uninstall ARROWFALL, or clear its storage in your headset's settings. Your purchase stays with your Meta account and is restored on the next launch.
- Anonymous play statistics: turn them off with STATS in the pause menu, which also removes the random ID from your headset (as does uninstalling). The statistics already sent cannot be traced back to you, so we cannot pick out yours; they are deleted 13 months after the ID was last seen.
- Data on our server (player reports that include your User ID): email vasbanyai.j@gmail.com with the subject "ARROWFALL data deletion", your Meta (Horizon) username and roughly when you played multiplayer. We delete every report that involves you within 30 days and confirm by email. You can also ask us what data we hold about you. Most players have no data on our server at all: reports exist only if you used REPORT PLAYER or someone reported you.
- Data held by Meta (your account, purchases): see Meta's privacy policy and your Meta account settings.
4. Children
ARROWFALL is not directed at children under 13 and is offered under the age rules of the Meta Horizon Store.
5. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date.
